What is Dibond Printing?

Dibond is a very well versed and familiar term in the printing and safety industry. It has excellent sales, is extremely popular, and comes in long-lasting, excellent quality.

Dibond printing is printing of signs, photos, texts, or pictograms that is done on aluminium composite material also known as dibond sheets. The composite metal is made by combining two aluminium sheets (usually pre-printed and 0.3 mm in thickness) that are fused with a core of polyethylene. After fusing the layers, the total thickness of the aluminium composite sheet varies between 2 mm and 6 mm.

Known for its benefits in the business sphere and as road signs, Dibond printing can be a boon for its long-term benefits. Most business persons find it very difficult to get the right size and sign that fit the unique needs of the product or service being sold. For such enterprises, Dibond printing is a fantastic option for high-quality signs to be printed.

Dibond is a fantastic alternative to prints, photos, and signs on plywood, PVC, or Coroplast, since it can last longer and remains in excellent condition.

Dibond printing has several benefits. Let us share a few with you.

Weatherproof:

Dibond printing is extremely useful for all weather conditions. Heat resistant, water and snow resistant, rain and other harsh weatherproof, Dibond prints are long lasting and do not lose their shine or color. Thanks to the aluminium composite used in the making of Dibond, the sun, and excessive heat do not affect the print on the surface of the material. Dibond is printed with UV (Ultraviolet) ink that does not become damaged due to the sun or reflective glares from the sun (in desert and snow).

UV ink helps protect the print and colors from the sun and helps them last longer than other materials used in printing that may fade or lighten over time. The print is solvent-free and non-toxic, so will not harm the aluminium composite over time.

Weight, size, and shape:

Due to the materials used, Dibond is lighter and more durable than other materials used in printing. Dibond prints weigh half as much as straight aluminium does, with thicker depths to make them sturdier and longer lasting. Added strength and flexibility allow Dibond prints to be shaped according to specifications. Dibond signs and photos can be shaped in straight lines, rectangles, squares, and circles. They can also be bent to form with curved edges or rounded corners.

The flexibility of the metal can be advantageous while designing and printing logos, signboards, and creative content material. They are also available in an array of colors like silver (brushed aluminum), copper, black, yellow, white, cream, green, blue, red, grey, and pink.

Where can Dibond be used?

There are multiple uses for Dibond printing, and their creativity only limits most companies, not be the usability of Dibond. Since aluminium composite is flat, all photo prints and signages in any desired shape, size, folds, or color can be molded and printed according to the unique specifications of businesses.

Dibond prints can be used both indoors as well as outdoors.

Jewellery Box
The Perfect Jewellery Box for your Home

Jewellery boxes are very personal items. Everybody needs one for specific and unique needs. Some like these containers to be waterproof, some like them with enough air to let the jewellery breathe.

Jewellery and ornament boxes come in different shapes and sizes – from the smallest to hold earrings to large ones that can fit in safety deposit boxes. Many jewellery boxes are also used are showpieces in living rooms or on dressing tables in countless homes across the globe.

No matter which style, design, and type of box you choose, the basic need of the container is still the same – storage of jewellery. There are several online and brick and mortar shops where you can buy your jewellery boxes. It becomes easier to purchase one if you know what to look for in an ideal jewellery box according to your specification. Katie from Orla James says it really important to choose a wedding rings that fits the design of your home, is cost friendly and most importantly, protects its contents.

We are here to make your life a little easier by giving you some useful tips on how to select the correct jewellery box.

Size

Size always matters! Size of the jewellery box entirely depends on the number and type of jewellery you want to store. If you have a lot of pearls, you will require a box that has velvet or cloth lining on the inside. Gold and silver need airtight containers. The size of the jewellery box should depend on the number of ornaments and jewellery pieces you want to store in it. If you have fewer pieces to save, you should opt for a small to medium-sized jewellery box, but if you have many pieces or large jewellery, then you should buy a larger sized box.

Material used

As discussed earlier, the internal material matters when deciding jewellery boxes. However, outer material matters just as much as the inner. Wooden jewellery boxes are the obvious choice for a lot of people since these boxes are inexpensive and suit almost all needs. Armoire is another good choice.

Plastic jewellery boxes are excellent for storage of diamonds and gemstones as well as gold and silver jewellery. Always select a material that can soak moisture and keep your ornaments healthy and free from rust and damage.

Compartments

Modern men and women prefer being organised as against messy. Earlier, getting compartments in these boxes would be a task. Today, however, jewellery boxes come with small, medium, and large compartments to suit your specifications. Some boxes also come with unique holders for rings, earrings, and bangles. Bracelets and bangles can be stored in circular slots to avoid spoiling them. Rings can also be segregated to avoid confusion. There are hooks and holders for chains and chokers as well.

Ensure that you take stock of your jewellery pieces before you finalise on the compartments inside a jewellery box. Keeping your jewellery well organised will help preserve it for a longer time and get you the best value for your money at a later date.

Cost of the box

Check the price of the jewellery box per your budget. If you have expensive pieces of jewellery, it stands to reason that you need a jewellery box that can safely store your ornaments and protect them. Compare various box designs and costs based on the usage of the boxes and the sizes offered.

Larger boxes will be more costly than small and medium-sized ones. Good quality boxes with secure inner lining would be on the more expensive side than ones that are without inner lining. Conduct some research online to get an estimate of the sizes, materials, and variations available.

Locking mechanisms

Buying a box with secure locking mechanisms is crucial. Storing your jewellery is about safekeeping and protection. Never compromise on the safety of the locking mechanism. Some boxes have locks with keys that open the box, while some have digital locking systems. jewellery boxes with combination or sequential locks are the best but are expensive.

You need to make sure that your jewellery box remains safe in case your children ever get their hands on it, or the pets decide to jump on them. The locking mechanism should not open easily in case of a fall or a severe shake. If the locking system does not appeal to you, please opt for another box that is more suitable to your needs. Remember, if you lose the key to your jewellery box, not all hope is lost- call your local locksmith!

Before you settle on buying a box, always consider the style, pattern, design, locking, safety, the material used, cost, and model of the box. Your jewellery box should be a reflection of your treasures stored within it.

Vinyl or Lino Flooring?

There are plenty of floorings available in the market today. Two remarkably resilient ones, beside engineered wood flooring, are vinyl and linoleum. These two types of floorings are beneficial in wet areas like the bathrooms or kitchen. They are known to be resilient since they do not immediately change shape and characteristic if a heavy object falls on them. This means that vinyl and linoleum can retain and restore their original form.

While these two types of flooring share many characteristics and are sometimes spoken in a single breath, they are fundamentally entirely different. There are a few crucial points of difference between vinyl and linoleum, namely concerning installation, appearance, care, materials, production, cost, and maintenance. They both are available in tiles as well as in sheets. You have to consider if for example you were to throw a science party, whether the floor would stand all the mess!

What are the differences between vinyl and linoleum?

Installation: Vinyl is a favorite of people who like to do their flooring by themselves. Easy to install with peel together tiles and snap-fit planks, vinyl is quite a favorite. Sheet vinyl is slightly more challenging to install than tile vinyl since exact measurement and cutting tools are required.

Linoleum installation is also quite similar to vinyl installation and both rank same regarding tile linoleum and sheet linoleum.

Appearance: With vinyl, printed options are endless. You can choose from any number of colors, patterns, designs, images, and customizations made directly as per your wish. You can get any flooring design that you could wish for. Many of the printed artworks that people opt for are transferred onto vinyl for a designer effect and feel. However, with wear and tear the top layer of this print can fade giving a dull and lifeless appearance to realistic or lifelike images. Linoleum, on the other hand, does not have the design and pattern options that vinyl can get. The possibilities are limited but will hold steadfast even with wear and tear of the floor. The colors of linoleum do not fade since they are present inwards throughout the entire sheet or tile and not just on the surface.

Material: Vinyl is human-made using petroleum-based resources. A substantial amount of energy is required to make, process, and extract chlorine which constitutes a significant amount of the chemical composition of vinyl. Linoleum is made of naturally occurring linseed oil (an extract of flax seed). It is then formed in addition to wood flour, cork dust, and rosin. Without a doubt, linoleum is the better alternative regarding physical makeup.

Care and Maintenance: Cleaning vinyl flooring is effortless since it is meant to withstand moisture. You can sweep and mop with any detergent solution mixed with water to get a clean look and finish. The vinyl material does not discolor with regular cleaning. It can also be wiped clean to make it look good again. Linoleum is also a favorite of cleaners. As easy to clean as vinyl, linoleum is mostly seen in schools, hospitals, government offices, and other municipal offices. Extremely low maintenance, linoleum can be swept, mopped, or vacuumed to with a mild detergent.

Cost: Vinyl is cheap in comparison to linoleum by almost half. However, the flooring does not last for very long and will have to be changed every decade or so. Premium vinyl and customized vinyl can be quite expensive if charged per foot. Vinyl is set at price points of USD 0.5 to USD 2.00 per sq. Ft.

Linoleum is priced higher than vinyl by double. It also lasts for approximately 35 years. Flooring tends to degrade at a slower rate and will start appearing older till it needs replacement. Linoleum is priced at nearly USD 2.50 to USD 5.00 per sq. Ft.

Which is better, vinyl or linoleum?

Linoleum is used more often than vinyl in commercial properties and installations in the healthcare and education industry to maintain a uniform look and feel. Since it has a longer lifespan, linoleum does become the flooring of choice for these institutions.

Vinyl, on the other hand, can be used in almost any commercial or domestic design due to its versatility in color, appearance, design, and pattern. Commercial properties like events, corporate offices, retail, hospitality like restaurants, pubs, and so on prefer a trendy outlook and so opt for vinyl flooring.

Both are great flooring choices. Selection criteria between vinyl and linoleum should depend upon durability, cost, colors, and maintenance. Another factor to consider is how often you would like to change the flooring for a new look and feel.
