DHL & Boots, 2 giant brands, 1 giant challenge

We are extremely proud to have teamed up with logistics goliath DHL to design the graphics for their Boots distribution network annual conference 2011.

When DHL came calling we were over the moon! A ‘new look’ conference styling was required to help fully engage with the attendees and aid the communication of DHL’s plans for moving forward during 2011 and into 2012.

Two big names in one conference meant the pressure was really on to create something special. After initial meetings with their team to discuss their main objectives and initial brainstormed ideas, the Toxic team got our heads together and laid out our vision for the best route to take (logistics puns are fair game here).

As you would imagine, DHL had a very clear and concise plan of what needed to be communicated. To make things as straightforward and punchy as possible, the big picture was condensed down to ’5 steps to success’.

The conference look and feel had to fully engage the 1,500 attendees, so it was vital we created graphics that were striking, yet supportive of the strong overall message being portrayed. To do this we personalised the message with an illustrated character that was representative of the DHL team ‘en route’ to delivering success (sorry, I couldn’t help myself).

At the conference the graphics went down a treat, gaining compliments from both attendees and those involved in its development. Soon after the conference we were asked to develop the theme into posters, reference booklets and communication boards to be used in all their distribution centres, so here’s to what could be a blossoming relationship.

Engaging Marketing Literature

Over the past month we have been working alongside Whilton Marina, the Daventry based narrow boat specialists, to create marketing literature and event graphics to help boost their already well-known and respected brand.

Amongst other more standard literature items such as folders and corporate stationery, we’ve produced a package of marketing communications which aim to encourage user action or interaction.

Building upon a strong marketing direction and brand ‘look and feel’ we created competition flyers, postcards, and a selection of one-off exterior banners for Whilton Marina’s presence at the Crick Boat Show 2011 (an industry event that pulls in visitors from across the UK).

Sales brochure and printed literature for Norbrook Pharmaceuticals Worldwide (Corby)

Over the last few months we’ve been working on a wide range of printed media including sales brochure, exhibition banners, product range flyer and promotional desk pad for the Corby based Norbrook Pharmaceuticals Worldwide, a leading veterinary and animal health medicines company.

The work was mainly for their Noromectin range of products, with the exception of the desk pad which is to promote their full range of products. We were handed the task of creating an informative and eye-catching set of printed literature that would boost awareness of the company and show off its wide variety of products and ranges.

Logo design & marketing literature for Kettering Borough Council’s healthy living initiative

As key figure in a multi Northamptonshire council partnership, Kettering Borough Council approached us to design the logo and marketing literature for the ‘Keep Healthy @ Kettering’ initiative.

A leaflet, poster and banner enticing people in the community to stay healthy was the challenge, so we aimed to create a warm, welcoming look and feel, making use of photo’s of local residents to promote the idea that healthy living was for everyone.

Working for the council is always an honour, especially when it is on such an important topic. To get the nod for the project was great so we were determined to make the most of the opportunity. We set our brains into designer mode and got to work in the creation of a campaign theme that spoke directly to the people.

Designing logos and marketing literature aimed at educating the local community is not an easy task due to the broad demographic it needed to appeal to, but we put our collective ideas and sketches together to create something that would speak to the community as a whole.
