Coffee, Cakes, Babies & Branding

This may not be one of our more recent projects but we certainly felt the need to shout about it. Mocha Mama (a start up business based in Kettering, Northamptonshire) came to us needing the full works, so we put on our design and marketing hats and got to work on logo ideas, branding, adverts and flyers. When all the parts had been put together, Mocha Mama was ready for take off.

I am delighted I chose to work with Toxic Creative, they really listened to what I wanted to achieve and captured the look and feel very quickly.

Clare (company owner) approached us with a great idea and a great ethos, ‘a place for mothers to relax together in a safe, welcoming environment with a coffee and a cake’, all it needed was the branding and marketing to kick start them on to the right path.

We gave Mocha Mama a friendly look and feel to compliment the nature and attitude of the business. The logo was always intended to be a real typographical statement. Soft curves, legible letters, warm colours and not forgetting, the cute baby’s face that never fails to raise a smile.

Once we had the look and feel in place it was on to advertising. The company already had a clear target audience in mind, which is always fantastic news for us. After we gathered all the necessary information and had a brainstorming session we set to work creating flyers and adverts that would really strike a chord with mothers and families in the area. A simple message highlighting the safe haven where they could relax and have a chat while their little ones play.

Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, building up a fantastic reputation among mothers in the local area. We’ve loved seeing the company grow and can’t wait to see it continue. It won’t be long until they’re spreading out across the country (just remember us when you’re famous)!

Brand building for Oakham, Rutland based Gage Networks

Gage Networks are an Oakham, Rutland based company offering ‘Cloud Communications for Global Business’. A fresh brand approach was our brief with sales communications, internal documents, corporate stationery and even an iPhone application to follow.

Powerful and identifiable branding was a must, a large part of our solution was the multi-tone wave we developed. The wave was a new key brand feature and gave Gage an elegant style, sophisticated appeal and that ‘big brand’ feel. Along with the wave, typographical and layout styles were designed to form the final  updated brand and the key elements intended to become synonymous with the company and their services moving forward.

Newly designed sales leaflets and internal documents maintained the new look and feel, creating a professional and clear set of communications that helped build the consistent corporate feel across all touch points.

The iPhone app was for Gage’s new VOIP (voice over internet protocol) offering. A striking iPhone-esque icon and a selection of screen designs helped to take the corporate appeal of Gage onto the ever-growing iPhone platform.

A long-term partner, we have really enjoyed all the work we’ve been involved with and look forward to working with them into the future.

Leaflet design for local mum powered business

Totnosh produce top quality homemade baby food “Cooked with love by mums!”.

The Toxic team were challenged to produce an exciting leaflet to promote their product range. We created a playful illustration style incorporating a powerful baby influenced colour palette complimenting the Totnosh brand elements.

Logo design & marketing literature for Kettering Borough Council’s healthy living initiative

As key figure in a multi Northamptonshire council partnership, Kettering Borough Council approached us to design the logo and marketing literature for the ‘Keep Healthy @ Kettering’ initiative.

A leaflet, poster and banner enticing people in the community to stay healthy was the challenge, so we aimed to create a warm, welcoming look and feel, making use of photo’s of local residents to promote the idea that healthy living was for everyone.

Working for the council is always an honour, especially when it is on such an important topic. To get the nod for the project was great so we were determined to make the most of the opportunity. We set our brains into designer mode and got to work in the creation of a campaign theme that spoke directly to the people.

Designing logos and marketing literature aimed at educating the local community is not an easy task due to the broad demographic it needed to appeal to, but we put our collective ideas and sketches together to create something that would speak to the community as a whole.
